The Drunk Book Bard

Hey! I am the creator of this site and main blogger. I have been a bibliophile since I first learned how to read thanks to my mom for keeping me surrounded by books. Edgar Allan Poe and J.R.R. Tolkien are my favorite authors. I'm a private book collector and seller, my collecting consists of first editions of classics but my passion is collecting different editions of Poe's collections of short stories and poems but not just valuable editions - any that attract my attention. Favorite genre is fantasy fiction but I read anything that sounds like a good story. Last year I tried my hand at writing and I turned out to be a bit of alright. I'm working on new stories at the moment and I will share them upon completion. Short stories seem to be the best vehicle for my writing (thanks to Poe for my inspiration) so I am sticking to that prose. I started a podcast called The ED POETS Society on Anchor..FM in which I discuss Edgar Allan  Poe's work and share my original stories plus other bookish things. I run a multi-fandom nerd page called The Drunk Bard and I manage a book group called The Book Bard on Facebook. Yo! I'm a Philadelphian by birth, a Phoenician by chance, a copywriter and editor by profession, a two-time National Novel Writing Month winner, and an all-around lover of words. I'm also the Wahine-in-chief -thats what it actually said on my business cards - of the late, lamented Cargo Cult Press, a boutique publisher of limited-edition horror. We saw the writing on the wall (pun entirely intended) and got out just before the bottom fell out of the luxury market. I'm here to chew gum and read books, and my dentist told me to stop chewing gum.
